Technological evolution follows long-term cycles where software’s inherent plasticity allows for greater innovation and disruption than hardware-based revolutions. While current tech incumbents leverage data and platform control to entrench their positions, the emergence of crypto-networks offers a fundamental shift in business models by aligning incentives between developers, users, and protocols. Unlike ad-based models that prioritize data extraction, token-based systems enable users to participate in the financial upside of the networks they build. This transition mirrors the early internet era, where infrastructure limitations initially hindered adoption. As crypto-networks mature to support higher transaction speeds and improved developer experiences, they will likely foster native applications—such as digital goods and autonomous organizations—that were previously impossible, effectively decentralizing power and reintroducing digital scarcity to creative and financial markets.
