"Greeking Out" presents an adaptation of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, focusing on their love story. The episode begins with an introduction to the characters, Orpheus, son of Apollo, and Eurydice, a wood nymph. Their deep love leads to marriage, but tragedy strikes when Eurydice dies from a snake bite after fleeing from a jealous shepherd. Orpheus, with encouragement from his father, journeys to the underworld to plead with Hades and Persephone to release Eurydice. Moved by Orpheus's song, they agree, but under the condition that he must not look back at Eurydice until they both reach the upper world. Nearing the exit, Orpheus's doubt leads him to look back, causing Eurydice to return to the underworld. Grieving, Orpheus dies of a broken heart and is reunited with Eurydice in Elysium. The podcast includes interjections from the Oracle, who provides factual information and humorous commentary, and also features advertisements for National Geographic Kids books.
